large windows facing north and east to allow light to enter and
provide panoramic water views. Paintings depicting scenes from
the local area by resident artist Angus Douglus feature in every

Lounge

The fully appointed kitchen, dining and
lounge area with relaxed seating around a log fire has
been a successful development to the building with guests
appreciative of the facilities and the atmosphere in the
room. It is an area open to all lodge guests ( usually
a maximum of four couples anyway) with a dining table made
from native timbers that easily seats ten. A CD
player, comfortable lounge options and quality lighting
it’s the place for those wishing to immerse themselves
in a book, backgammon or chess. It remains a quiet area
and children are not permitted without close adult supervision.
The writing desk is a feature of the lounge. Hand crafted
using the stern of a Tasmanian dinghy built on the West
Coast 105 years ago.
The kitchen fridge and cupboards are stocked with breakfast
provisions and condiments for the preparation of lunch
or evening meals. We recommend you visit our local fishermans
wharf to buy the catch of the day, with a garden fresh
salad, Tasmanian new potatoes and a bottle of local wine
from the cellar. This region is fast attracting a reputation
for premium shellfish, grown in the clean, fertile bays
and inlets nearby. Fishing boats pass by our window daily
and there is no substitute for gathering the ingredients
yourself, meeting the characters and taking in a story
or two
